We invite you to take a look at the
Booneville Public Library.
Of course in a public library of
any size, you would expect to find books and periodicals. The
Booneville Public Library is no different. You will find books on
many different subjects in this library.
However, books & periodicals only
scratch the surface of what you will find at the Booneville Public
Library. |
|
From seasonal themes to monthly
reading programs, there is something for everyone at the Booneville Public
Library.
To encourage the development of
reading skills, the Library sponsors summer reading programs for
school-aged youth. |

 |
One of the key areas developed by
the Booneville Public Library and many volunteers over the past few years
is an outstanding genealogy section.
Although many of these resources
can not be checked out of the library, they are all accessible to the
public. |
|
Featuring many local historical references and
records, the section also has state-wide publications and records, as well
as access to online genealogy resources. |
 |
 |

One little-known resource available at the Booneville
Public Library is the bound copies of the Sanatorium Outlook.
A bi-monthly publication of the Arkansas State
Tuberculosis Sanatorium in Booneville, the newsletter has articles of
interest to patients and families alike, as well as listing admissions and
discharges.
Here, is shown the earliest copy
available at the Booneville Public Library - January 1929. |

This is the final issue of the Sanatorium Outlook
- July/August 1970. |
 |
 |
For researching older periodicals
and other records, there are microfiche viewers available for use. |

And, of course, the Booneville Public Library also
houses the General John Paul McConnell Exhibit.
Not only does this area chronicle the life of a local boy who went on to
become the US Air Force Chief of Staff, but it also features a wealth of
interesting photographs and items collected by General McConnell, such as
the photograph shown above. |
