Booneville Medical
Complex
The City,
Community and Business Leaders of Booneville and South Logan
County take Health Care very seriously.
Since 2000,
steps have been taken toward developing a Medical Complex,
hinged around the existing Booneville Community Hospital.
In 2000, a new
Senior Care Facility, Oak Manor Nursing Center, was built.
In 2002, additional land was purchased to make way for
expansion of the existing hospital. In 2003, the
Citizens of Booneville passed a 1-cent sales tax to fund the
upgrading of the existing hospital and fund the construction
of a new hospital facility. A new Logan County Health
Department was added in 2004, with a new family medical clinic
opening in the Spring of 2005. A new Home Health office
was constructed in 2006. The final piece in the
Medical Complex is a new Critical Care Rural Access Hospital.
Construction began in January 2007 and completion is projected
for December 2007. |

The
cornerstone of the many health services offered within South
Logan County is the 25-bed Booneville Community Hospital.
The hospital has just opened a Rural Health Clinic that is
open Monday through Friday from 6 pm to midnight, and 8 am to
8 pm on Saturday and Sunday. Booneville Community Hospital
also provides full-time in-house ER coverage from 6 p.m. until
6 a.m. each night with 24-hour coverage on weekends. Also
available at the hospital are home health services, CT scans, MRIs, physical therapy, respiratory therapy, laboratory
services, ultrasound, EKGs, mammograms, out-patient surgery
and most acute care hospital services.

Commission is as follows: Jim West, Chairman; Mary Beth

First Major Step Taken
Toward New Hospital
On February
28, 2006, ground is broken for a new Home Health office just
behind the existing Booneville Community Hospital.
After this
facility is completed, and Home Health relocates their offices
and services to it, the existing Home Health facility will be
demolished to make way for the new Hospital Facility. |
